Teen Classroom and Behind the Wheel     
The State of Minnesota requires persons under 18 years of age who wish to acquire driving privileges to complete 30 hours of classroom instruction and 6 hours of behind the wheel instruction.  Range Driver Training offers this service. Students who choose this service agreement, complete classroom and financially commit to the 6 hours of behind the wheel will be issued a Blue Slip.  (The state requires a student make a financial commitment to Behind the Wheel before a blue slip can be issued.)  The blue slip is the state form required to take the permit test.  It tells the state you completed the classroom portion of driver education and made a financial commitment to take the required 6 hours of behind the wheel.
Behind the wheel lessons will be 1 student to 1 instructor.  Occasionally there may be other students or instructors as observers in the car for your lesson.
Cost for combined classroom and Behind the Wheel is $400.00 The service agreement goes into more detail.

Teen Behind the Wheel 

Persons under 18 years of age must complete 6 hours of behind the wheel with a licensed instructor.   If you have moved into the area and already have your permit from a different driving school you may take behind the wheel only.  Cost for Behind the wheel only is $300.00. Whether you need to acquire your permit or already have your permit you will need a Letter of Classroom Completion on school letterhead from the driving school that provided the classroom.  The Letter of Classroom Completion will be attached to the service agreement for  Behind the Wheel only.
Behind the wheel lessons will be 1 student to 1 instructor.  Occasionally there may be other students or instructors as observers in the car for your lesson.
Students/parents may purchase behind the wheel instruction hours at $50 per hour of behind the wheel.

Teen Classroom Only                                                                                                   
This is the 30-hour classroom instruction required for persons under 18 years of age who want to acquire a permit.  On completion of classroom you will be issued a Letter of Classroom Completion. This letter does not enroll you in behind the wheel and you will not be allowed to take a permit test with this letter.  You must present the Letter of Classroom Completion to the company you wish to take behind the wheel with.  The company that provides the behind the wheel instruction MUST issue the blue slip which allows you to take the permit test. Cost for classroom only is $135.00

Adult Behind the Wheel                                                                                               
Adults (persons over 18 years of age) wishing to take behind the wheel must have an instruction permit.  Adults are not required to take behind the wheel so they may take 1 or up to 10 hours of behind the wheel as needed.  Behind the wheel lessons will usually be 1 student to 1 instructor.  Occasionally there may be other students or instructors in the car for your lesson.  Adult students may purchase behind the wheel instruction hours at $50 per hour of behind the wheel.

Road Test Vehicle Rental                                                                                             
Provided the student has taken behind the wheel with Range Driver Training, the students/parent may arrange to use one of our vehicles for a road test for $50. If this is something you are seriously considering we recommend that you talk to your behind the wheel instructor to make arrangements.

55 and Older 8 Hour Defensive Driving Course                                                
The 8-hour Defensive Driving Course class qualify participants 55 and older to receive a reduction in their automobile insurance.  As required by state law, the class is divided into two, 4-hour sessions.
We would be happy to offer this course at your location.  We are available for day and evening courses.  Our Defensive Driving Course is approved by the Minnesota Commissioner of Public Safety and meets all requirements of Minnesota Statutes, Section 65B.28 for an appropriate automobile insurance reduction.  Range Driver Training provides all materials for the course.

55 and Older 4-Hour Defensive Driving Refresher Course                           
The 4-hour Defensive Driving Course Refresher qualify participants to retain eligibility for their insurance reduction.  This class is for those persons who have already taken the 8-hour Defensive Driving Course.
This course must be taken every 3 years to remain eligible for an insurance reduction.  We offer courses at our location in Eveleth, but would be happy to arrangements to offer this course at your location.  We are available for day and evening courses.  Our 4-Hour Refresher Defensive Driving Course is approved by the Minnesota Commissioner of Public Safety and meets all requirements of Minnesota Statutes, Section 65B.28 for retaining your automobile insurance reduction.  Range Driver Training provides all materials for the course.
