When should I schedule my first behind-the-wheel lesson?

After you pass your permit test, you should call the behind-the wheel instructor you were directed to at the conclusion of your classroom session. It will be highlighted on your information sheet. If you can\’t remember who that is, call Mrs. Madden @ (218) 749-8926. We recommend your first behind-the wheel lesson be taken about 6 weeks after you get your permit. We encourage you to start driving right away – parking lots first, then advance slowly onto quite residential streets. Your first lesson will consist of car control maneuvers, reference points, lane changes, right and left turns, driving communication skills, and proper observation techniques.
